The GEL 100 CAF 100 Contains 100 mg of caffeine - this is the equivalent of 1.5 espresso - or one cup of cooked coffee. This is a lot compared to many traditional gels. It supplies 25 grams of carbohydrates by a unique mixture of fructose and glucose (0.8: 1 ratio). It has a high weight/energy ratio and does not contain added scents, preservatives or colorants. Just like all our products, it is suitable for vegans.

Use the GEL 100 CAF 100 yourself for shorter periods or combine it with other Maurten products to make sure you have enough carbohydrates throughout your session.

Why caffeine?

Caffeine has been shown to promote vigilance and reduce perceived effort and pain. These are properties that can be useful in sports achievements. The Gel 100 CAF 100 can be used alone or together with other sources of caffeine, such as usually coffee - or to achieve sufficient levels of caffeine during activity.

QUANTITY OF CARBOHYDRATES

It is well known that our body can use about 60 grams of absorbed carbohydrates per hour in the form of glucose or maltodextrin (glucose polymer). The use of a combination of 0.5: 1 of fructose and glucose/maltodextrin allows absorption of up to 90 grams per hour. More studies show that increased fructose content above 0.5: 1 allows even higher absorption. The Gel 100 CAF 100 is based on a 0.8: 1 fructose ratio to glucose. One serving contains 25 grams of carbohydrates.
